Can Llamas

by Ricardo Laguna

When I began dreaming about the project, I imagined something completely different from what it turned out to be. As I started, I faced the challenges of construction laws, and the issue of the required space with the neighbor led to a layout I hadn’t expected at all. Working with Clàudia, everything took an unexpected turn. We began reconsidering aspects I had previously taken for granted and pondering questions I hadn’t thought of before.

Reflecting on the design and construction process, I can say I felt completely supported and understood throughout. Before starting, I thought the architect’s job was solely to design, but with Claudia, the experience goes much further. She shows total commitment, even concerning herself with aspects beyond her scope, and is always attentive to how I feel throughout the process. I’m convinced this experience wouldn’t be the same without her, and I wouldn’t be enjoying the project as much as I am.

Before, I allowed myself to be influenced by others’ tastes, but I realized the house was for me. I started thinking about what I truly liked, which has made me love the entire process.

How would I define the house? The house is me, the house is Ricardo… It’s cozy, with natural colors and materials like concrete, earth, and wood. I live in a green environment, feeling connected to nature, relaxed on my emerald green sofa in front of the fireplace, bathed in warm late afternoon light.

Thanks to Clàudia, I’ve learned to love my project as it is, and right now, I wouldn’t change anything about it.
